On Tuesday’s Morning Focus, Gavin and his guests spoke about an array of different topics.
The show started with a Clare FM and Collins Jewelers competition with a prize of an engagement ring worth 2,500 euro.
After the Competition announcement, Gavin spoke about Minister Canney’s visit to Clare.
Following that, Gavin welcomed Catherine Gleeson, Programming communications manager of Safe Ireland onto the show. They spoke about the domestic violence bill. The justice Minister and the Tánaiste hope to have new domestic violence laws in place by this Summer.
Next, George O’Callaghan, Chief Executive of LCETB, spoke to Gavin about multidimensional education in Clare.
At 10am, Gavin discussed financial advice with Tommy Corbett of Carey Corbett Financial Solutions LTD.
After that, Tríona Murphy, Public Relations Officer of The Donkey Sanctuary, talked to Gavin about Donkey Sanctuaries reaching out to Clare farmers in order to help them take better of their farm animals.
Following up with the Domestic Violence Bill, Gavin spoke to former Clare FG Senator, Tony Mulcahy about his hopes for the new legislation.
To finish up the second hour, Gavin spoke to Frankie Coote, Clare County Dog Warden.
To kick off the final hour, Gavin welcomed author, Fergus Barrett onto the show. Fergus has recently written a book entitled ‘I am responsible for my own life’. In his book he talks about using his army experiences and the greater hurdles in life to create a positive lifestyle.
Then Gavin spoke to John Molloy, Parent and founder of Irish Internet Control Device iKydz. They discussed Safer Internet Day and how to properly moderate your child’s internet usage.
To finish the show, Gavin chatted with Mike Douse of the poetry Collective about National Poetry Day. Mike hopes to encourage young children to write poetry by inviting them to recite their poetry at the Clare Education Centre at 4pm on Thursday April 27th.
