Morning Focus – Thursday 24/05/18

Thursday’s Morning Focus opened with a look at farm incomes, which have risen over the last year.

The biggest bounce was seen on dairy farms, but concerns continue over costs, as Martin McMahon, Clare Chair of the ICMSA, told Gavin.

Then the show looked at the ongoing issue of flooding on the Ennis to Limerick rail line at Ballycar, with a special package from the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Rural Affairs which has been looking into the issue.

After that, Gavin was joined to talk about the problem of violence against women by Caitríona Gleeson of Safe Ireland.

After that, Senator Martin Conway (FG) and Senator Rónán Mullen debated the issues around the Referendum on the Eighth Amendment.

Nollaig McGuinness was Gavin’s next guest as she previewed a number of South Galway projects which are part of the programme for Galway 2020.

Coping with stress was the next topic for discussion as Gavin was joined by psychologist and UL lecturer, Deirdre O’Shea.
