Morning Focus celebrated St Bridget’s Day and the traditional start of Spring with a chat with Fr Denis Crosby, PP of Liscannor.

Ceremonies will take place at St Brigid’s Well today as thousands flock to the pilgrimage site.

Thursday’s Morning Focus returned to the subject of the county’s roads. This time, Gavin heard from Kerry’s Deputy Michael Healy-Rae (Independent) who is advocating a system of road supervisors to monitor the country’s routes.

Then, Deputy Alan Kelly (Labour) joined Gavin to voice his concerns over the new National Planning Framework. The Tipperary TD has come together with a number of other rural representatives to express their fears for rural Ireland.

After that, Gavin was joined by Daniel McConnell, Political Editor of The Irish Examiner. He updated Gavin on the evidence given by former Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald to the Disclosures Tribunal.

Dr Máire Finn was Gavin’s guest in studio to answer questions and speak about the subject of headache and migraine. Listen back below:

Then, Morning Focus producer Fiona McGarry joined Gavin to continue her feature on keeping kids out of crime. Today, she spoke to Bronwyn, a young woman who believes she’d have ended up in prison if she hadn’t been referred to the Garda Youth Diversion Programme.

After that, Gavin was joined by Eoghan Corry, travel expert and editor of TravelExtra.ie. He joined Gavin ahead of the Holiday Show in association with Shannon Airport, which comes to the UL Arena at the weekend (3rd and 4th Feb). Listen back below:
