The week got off to a lively start on Morning Focus, with the Monday Sports Panel in studio to discuss all of the weekend’s sporting action.

The show opened with a look at the rates of people in Clare living with disabilities. The latest Census shows an increase in the numbers with at least one disability and Pat spoke to Ann Marie Flanagan an activist on the issue about whether or not services are keeping pace.
The President of Limerick Institute of Technology, Prof Vincent Cunnane, was Pat’s next guest. He warned against the blanket introduction of Income-Contingent Loans (ICLs) to fund third-level education.
Sgt Joe Downey then joined Pat for the weekly Garda Focus slot.
Afterwards, Mary Kennelly, a poet and author, was Pat’s guest to discuss the publication of ‘Splinters’, a volume of poetry which will be launched next Friday (Nov 10) at the Rowan Tree in Ennis.
Clare women are being urged to take up their appointments with the BreastCheck service which provides free mammograms for women over the age of 50. Pat spoke with Eilís Hayes from Cork who had a tumour detected by the service. Listen back below:
