The week got off to a lively start on Morning Focus with news that all three of Clare’s Fine Gael Oireachtas members are backing Leo Varadkar to lead the party.

The show then heard from Michael McTeigue, Clare Fianna Fáil PRO, who urged people to do more for their local post office to ensure the viability of the network.

Gavin’s next guest was Dr Liam Glynn a Ballyvaughan GP and Communications Chair with the National Association of General Practitioners (NAGP). Dr Glynn outlined how the NAGP is concerned that emergency financial legislation passed during the recession is making general practice unviable. Listen back below:

An exciting documentary to air on Clare FM tonight (Mon. May 22, 6pm) entitled ‘Bullets and Ballots’, was previewed by its makers Padraic Flaherty (Operations Manager, Clare FM) and Dr Pádraig Óg Ó Ruairc.

Conor Flanagan, the CEO of Atlantic Aviation Group was next into studio, along with Ben Lucas, to discuss the benefits for secondary school students of opting for an apprenticeship scheme. Listen back below:
