Morning Focus – Monday 21/08/17

The Monday edition of Morning Focus bid a fond farewell to Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017, with a special panel in studio and a package on the appeal of the event for young and old.

The show opened with a gathering in studio including Labhrás Ó Murchú, Director General of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann; Frank Whelan, Chair of the Fleadh organising committee, Chief Superintendent John Kerin and Ger Dollard, Deputy CEO of Clare County Council. Listen back below:

The show then moved to North Clare where temporary traffic lights have been installed at Blake’s Corner. Gavin was joined by publican Joe McInerney to assess how they worked over a busy weekend.

Ahead of the last of the Clare FM Lunchtime Sessions, Gavin was joined in studio by Caoimhín Ó Sé of The West Wind.

Sergeant Joe Downey was next in studio to update Gavin on appeals from the force for the help of the public, on the weekly Garda Focus slot.

As thousands prepare to say goodbye to Ennis and to the Fleadh, Morning Focus producer Fiona McGarry presented a special report on how the event appeals to young and old. Listen back below:
