The Friday edition of Morning Focus saw a lively panel discussion of some of the big issues of the week, with Tony Killeen, Bob Vernon and John Quinlivan joining Gavin in studio.

The show opened with a discussion of the challenges facing people who are moved off Community Employment Schemes in terms of finding new employment. Gavin was joined on the line by councillors Michael Hillery and Joe Cooney.

The Communications Minister’s told his cabinet colleagues he wants to see animals banned from circuses. Gavin was joined to discuss the issue by John Carmody, an animal rights campaigner.

As the US and the wider world, struggle to come to terms with the aftermath of the Las Vegas shooting, Gavin was joined on the line to discuss gun control by NUIG lecturer and Boston native, Larry Donnelly.
