Today’s show was dominated by the two biggest news stories of the past 24 hours.

Both Clare Fine Gael Junior Minister Pat Breen and Clare Fianna Fáil TD Timmy Dooley spoke with Gavin about the renewal of the confidence and supply deal between their parties, and also Theresa May’s survival of the Motion of No Confidence in her by Conservative backbenchers. You can listen to their interviews below.

We also got the latest on Theresa May’s future from Bernard Purcell, Editor of The Irish World newspaper in londno, before speaking with Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat Hayes about the M18 motorway, and his concerns about some of the exits. Following a notice of motion that he raised at this week’s meeting of the local authority, Clare County Council is to write to TII to convey their concerns.

TII later told Clare FM that it will respond to the Council after it receives the formal correspondance, and insists the M18 was designed to existing motorway standards.

Alan Dickey, School Director at Raheen Wood Steiner Secondary School Alpha, told us of their plans to construct a geodesic dome, which will act as a classroom, arts and community space.

Then, we talked about shopping local in the run-up to Christmas. Gavin was joined by Ciara Whooley of ISME, William Cahir of Ennis Chamber and Liz Greehy of Kilbaha Gallery and Crafts.

Simon Clarke and his partner Rachel spoke about their around Ireland trek in aid of the Scottish-based Ecologia charity, before we meet some young film-makers from Ennistymon who have really made a mark. A short film by members of the Clare Youth Action group, highlighting problems associated with plastics in our oceans, has been watched over 4.2 million times (at the time of writing!). Gavin spoke with teenagers Amy Custy, Caitlin Griffin, Kayla Ryan and Emma Thynne, as well as Emma Samms and James Sheppard.

Gorgeousness coach Tristan Lee spoke about his new book ‘Munch, Move, Moisturise, and of how he’s really 47! (His website is tristainlee.com if you want to see a photo) before Michael Houlihan talked about traditional Christmas traditions before a talk tonight in Kilnaboy.

We then concluded by continuing the festive theme, as Gavin spoke with Vladimir Jablokov who is bringing his Viennese Christmas Concert to Glór this Friday.
