Morning Focus 08/12/2017

We opened today’s programme on the deal in Brexit’s first phase that was released in the early hours of the morning. MEP Deirdre Clune outlined the agreement.

The Taoiseach says it’s a “very significant day”after a deal was reached. The compromise will ensure there’ll be no hard border on the island of Ireland. Leo Varadkar says it’s not the end – but it is the end of the beginning.

Roger Cole, Chair of The Peace and Neutrality alliance spoke to Gavin about concerns over the government’s plans to sign up to an EU defence deal that could jeopardise our neutrality.
