Aviation Taskforce Report Published

The government’s Aviation Recovery Taskforce has published its report today on recommendations to kickstart the rebuilding of Ireland’s aviation industry.

Among its findings, the report recommends that a stimulus package be provided for Shannon, Cork, Ireland West, and Donegal airports to allow them to reduce charges on airlines and help restore passenger numbers.

It also calls for increased investment in international marketing funding for Tourism Ireland to help promote regional airports, and that funding for essential capital projects be granted to airports like Shannon.

The Taskforce report also echos calls for the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme to be extended as far as March 2021 as well as provide liquidity supports for the aviation sector.
