Clare’s Sinn Féin TD is pleading with people not to share images of empty shop shelves on social media, saying it’s inciting panic on the ground.
Despite assurances from industry and government that shops would not be impacted, panic buying continued in earnest yesterday afternoon.
Kilrush Deputy Violet-Anne Wynne, however, says those who are sharing images and videos online of deserted shop shelves are doing more harm than good.
