Clare Camogie – Inagh/Kilnamona 3-12 Scarriff/Ogonnelloe 0-9

Inagh Kilnamona had an early start in Scarriff where they were victorious over the home side on a scoreline of 3-12 to 0-9.

With the aid of the breeze in the first half Inagh Kilnamona got off to a perfect start when Laoise Ryan rattled the scarriff net after only 5 minutes. Amy Keating followed up with her first of the day – a point from a free.

Aoife power got Scarriff Ogonnelloe on the score board in the 10th minute with a point from play. Clare Commane responded with a point before Marian Scanlon, who proved a handful throughout the game put over her first of three points from frees in the first half.

Amy Keating put over 3 more frees before the half time whistle and the teams went in with Inagh Kilnamona up 1-5 to 0-5.

Andrea O’Keeffe popped over a point from the throw in. However Aoife Power cancelled that out minutes later with a point for the home side. Before Andrea O Keeffe got her second of the day. Marian Scanlon responded with an well taken point.

Two points from Amy Keating and Aoibhinn Ryan who were in great form finally put distance between the team. The Ryan sisters combined well to give Laoise the opportunity to take her second goal of the day and she did superbly.

Points from Amy Keating (45) and Aoibhinn Ryan put the contest out of reach of Scarriff Ogonnelloe.

Marian Scanlon and number 9 put over a point each before Laoise Ryan got her hat trick goal with 5 minutes remaining while her younger sister had the final say with the last score of the game when she put a point on the score sheet. Final score 3-12 to 0-9.

There were great displays from the experienced Amy Keating and Laoise Ryan’s switch to the forwards paid dividends. Impressive also were Aoibhinn Ryan, Hazel O Connor and Orla Vaughan.

Whilst Marian Scanlon and Aoife Power and Ciara Doyle were best for Scarriff Ogonnelloe.
