Even More Free Parking for Ennis Shoppers This Christmas And NY

Hundreds of additional free parking spaces will be available in Ennis in the run up to the festive period.

Clare County Council has announced its expanded free parking initiative, as well as a number of street closures, as part of efforts to boost footfall and encourage people to shop local this Christmas and New Year.

The local authority has announced that once again this year there’ll be free parking in Ennis, as part of efforts to promote Christmas and New Year shopping.

From Friday, December 7th until January 5th you can park at public car parks for free from 3pm each Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Additional spaces are also being made available at Buttermarket/Waterpark House on the 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th between 9am and 6pm, and, at Clare GAA/the Rear of The Cloister Car Park from the 7th up until Christmas Eve.

Meanwhile, a €3 parking charge for the full day, will apply at the Holy Family School on 22nd and 23rd of December and on Christmas Eve between 9.30 and 2pm, with stewarding being provided by Ennis Chamber.

The Christmas Pedestrianisation arrangements have also been finalised to facilitate and enhance the shopping experience for locals & visitors to the town over the festive period.

O’Connell Square, O’Connell Street, Salthouse Lane and High Street will be closed to traffic from midday until 6pm on the weekend of the 15th and 16th, and again from Friday the 21st to Christmas Eve.
