63 On Trolleys At Region’s Main Hospital

Nurses say 63 patients were left waiting for beds at the region’s main hospital today.

The latest figures from the INMO show the level of overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick is continuing to rise today.

The Dooradoyle facility is the busiest in the country, with 44 on trolleys in the Emergency Department, and a further 19 in overflow areas of wards.

The overall figure is 21 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 424 patients have been left waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.
