Stacks of brown envelopes are awaiting Leaving Cert students in every corner of the Banner County this morning.

The results will be available to pick up in person from 9am, while they’re available online from 12 noon.

Here in Clare, 1,238 people will be receiving Leaving Cert results – that’s 670 women and 586 men and includes mature students who have gone back to resit their exams.

Additionally, 50 teenagers will receive their Leaving Cert Applied results.

They’re among more than 57,000 in total around Ireland for who the long wait is coming to an end this morning.

This is the second year that the new grading system is in place, which caused some confusion last year, while it also marks the first year that Politics and Society has been offered as a subject.
