War Of Words Over Proposed Barack Obama Style Motorway Plaza Outside Ennis

The owner of Supermacs has again dismissed suggestions that a planned Barack Obama style motorway development on the outskirts of Ennis will be detrimental to the town.

It’s after a group of Ennis Chamber retailers have signalled their intention to lodge a submission aimed at preventing the ten million euro development on the M18 motorway at Skehanagh.

They’ve raised a number of concerns including the impact on traffic, existing businesses in the town and in areas leading to Clare’s tourism hotspots, jobs displacement and the visual impact of the proposed development on the rural landscape.
