Monday’s Morning Focus opened with a discussion of Dr Michael Harty, Independent TD for Clare, on the aims of the UL Hospitals Group Strategic Plan.
Dr Harty gave the plan a general welcome, but said its implementation would depend on wide consultation with a number of other sectors of the health service.
Then, Gavin Grace heard from Western Herd Brewing in Kilmaley, who are one of a number of microbreweries around Ireland affected by a Europe-wide shortage of food grade carbon dioxide.
After that, thoughts turned to the rescue of a team of young boys who’ve been trapped in a cave in Thailand since June 23.
Gavin spoke with Brían MacCoitir from Ennis a very experienced caver who has been on expeditions in remote regions of Papua New Guinea.
There was an exciting development for two Clare-based teachers, Aoife Caulfield and Judy Breen, as their research on school-readiness, was raised in the Seanad and is to be endorsed by the Minister for Education. Both teachers work with Mol an Óige, Steiner School in Ennistymon. Listen back below:
