Man Arrested Following Machete Attack Outside Clare School

A man has been arrested following a machete attack outside a Clare primary school.

It’s understood a man struck a car three times with the large knife outside Clarecastle National School, shortly after 3 o’clock on Tuesday last, when children were finishing up at school.

Gardaí have this evening arrested a man in his twenties from the Ennis area in connection with the incident.

He’s being detained at Ennis Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
