INMO Says 72 Patients Left Waiting For Bed At UHL

Nurses say 72 patients have been left waiting for beds at the region’s main hospital today.

The latest figures from the INNO show 52 people were waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, with a further 20 accomodated in overflow areas of wards.

The record number is the highest in the country and is 17 more than the next busiest facility.

The UL Hospitals Group has apologised to patients suffering long waits and is reassuring that they’re working to alleviate the situation.

Patients are being urged to contact their GP or GP out of hours service in the first instance, and to make use of the Injury Unit or the Medical Assessment Unit at Ennis General Hospital.
