In mid-February, the National Gallery opened one of its major exhibitions of 2018, Emil Nolde: Colour is Life. A rare opportunity to see the work of this prolific and versatile artist, this exhibition will explore some of the many facets of his work. From portraits to seascapes and including etchings, woodcuts, drawings and paintings, this is a bold survey of Nolde’s fascinating oeuvre. The National Gallery, in partnership with glór presents free illustrated talks on Emil Nolde's life and work. Including a talk for post-primary and an evening talk delivered by a member of the education team, these talks will introduce audiences to both the man and his art: his techniques, his motivations and the historical context of his work. Lasting an hour it will give those who wish to visit the exhibition in Dublin a wonderful introduction to what they’ll experience, while those who can’t make it to the exhibition will have the opportunity to see and hear about these unique works.
